Respuesta a opción de arrendamiento de un Venezolano

B es un amable arrendatario de San Diego, California, quien me ofreció una muy buena opción para mi estadía. Sin embargo, como todos saben:

Fecha de salida: 4 de agosto de 2010.

Esto fue lo que le tuve que contestar cuando me pregunto como podía pagarle el adelante de un mes (security deposit) el cual es necesario -de hecho es un requerimiento mínimo pues hay gente que pide muchos más- para reservar la opción de arrendamiento:

El me propuso transferirle el depósito ($775) a su cuenta bancaria en Estados Unidos. Yo le conteste:

I can’t even do that. In the last 5 or 6 years, the government took complete powers over the foreign currencies. Here, it’s “illegal” to access to any foreign currency so, for me to wire any amount to an international account, I have to get an authorization from those bastards and still there’s a limit on how much can I have access to (about $500). As a direct consequence, for me to even get some cash to arrive there, I have to talk with a lot of friends, and buy the dollars I need from them, but of course, the won’t sell them at the regular rate (which is already high enough)… they’ll use a different rate which allows them to gain extra money.

I know I can’t make you to wait for me because (and I’m not kidding you) I’m still searching for cash to arrive there and I don’t have the required amount yet. If you have another rental options (which I trust you have) please feel free to contact them. I’m already grateful at you for all your help and understanding but, considering what I explained to you, I can’t hold you into nothing.

I read the lease agreement and of course it’s fine; in case you don’t have any offers (which I doubt it) I will fill it up, and give it to you as soon as I can give you they security deposit -if there’s any chance at that time-, meanwhile I just can thank you and offer you my sincere apologies for every possible delay I caused you but hopefully you can spread the voice on how are we heading to a second Cuba.

Aquí, es “ilegal” acceder a cualquier divisa extranjera por lo tanto, para yo enviar electrónicamente cualquier monto hacia una cuenta internacional, debo tener una autorización de parte de esos bastardos y aún así, hay un límite sobre cuanto puedo acceder (alrededor de $500). Como una consecuencia directa, para yo incluso tener un poquito de efectivo para llegar allá, tengo que hablar con muchos amigos, y comprarle a ellos los dolares que necesito, pero por supuesto, ellos no van a venderlos a la tasa de cambio regular (la cual ya de por si es bastante alta)… ellos usaran una tasa diferente la cual les permita ganar dinero extra.

Yo se que no puedo hacer que esperes por mi porque (y no te estoy bromeando) aún estoy buscando efectivo para llegar allá y aún no tengo el monto requerido. Si tu tienes otras opciones de renta (lo cual se que es así) por favor siéntete libre de contactarlos. Yo de por si ya estoy bastante agradecido contigo por tu ayuda y comprensión pero, considerando lo que te he explicado, no puedo amarrarte a nada.

Leí el contrato de arrendamiento y por supuesto que esta bien; en caso de que no tenga ninguna oferta (que lo dudo) voy a llenarlo y dártelo tan pronto como pueda darte el depósito de seguridad -si es que hay alguna oportunidad para entonces-, mientras tanto yo solo puedo agradecerte y ofrecerte mi más sinceras disculpas por cualquier posible retraso que te haya podido causar pero, ojala puedas correr la voz sobre como nos estamos dirigiendo hacía una segunda Cuba.
